We granted our first wish through the program in December 2018. Ms. Wasson had remarked to her nurse, Kelly, that she would love to be able to go to Gatlinburg at Christmas to see the lights again. Kelly brought the idea back to the team, who began working to find a way to make this Christmas wish come true. We were able to book her hotel room, purchase some gift cards for food and gas, and the Dolly Parton Stampede generously donated a ticket to their show and allowed us to purchase deeply discounted tickets for Ms. Wasson’s family that accompanied her on the trip.
Our nurses made sure that Ms. Wasson had all of the medical supplies she would need before leaving. She and her family had a wonderful trip and were very grateful for the experience and memories made.
