Hospice East began over thirty years ago with a group of volunteers. Today, volunteers continue to be at the heart of Hospice East. These wonderful individuals are some of the most compassionate and giving people that we know. We are always looking for individuals to add to our volunteer team. Volunteer Examples include:
Patient Support
- Read to a patient
- Complete light housekeeping for a patient (dishes, dusting, etc.)
- Provide respite while a caregiver runs errands
- Scrapbook with a patient or loved one
- Watch a favorite movie or television show
- Complete light yard work (mowing, raking leaves, etc.)
- Sing with/to a patient
Administrative Support
- Assist with office mailings
- Answer phone calls
- General filing
- Assist with fundraising events
- Plan and organize community events/awareness programs
- Enter data into software systems
